Hemerocallis ‘Apricot Sparkles,’ an outstanding, reblooming selection from Dr. Darrell Apps’ breeding program, is the most prolific Daylily we’ve come across in terms of blooms. It produces 3″ apricot flowers with a light dusting that makes them glisten in the garden. The show begins in early June and continues into fall with a succession of 2′ stems, each bearing 9–10 buds. The foliage is dark and narrow, an excellent background for its long-running show. ‘Apricot Sparkles’ is a knockout tucked into a bed of Nepeta, Perovskia, or Lavender. PP 13,223

Daylilies (Hemerocallis) are the plants every gardener dreams of. They offer glorious flowers in every shade except blue, a long season of bloom (though individual flowers last but a day), and a robust disposition that makes them easy to transplant, easy to maintain, quick to multiply, and resistant to pests. They make a carefree and colorful ground cover.
