This dinner-plate-size Dahlia explodes into bloom with knockout pink flowers tipped with lighter edges. Each flower measures an impressive 8–10″ across. Plants produce rich green, dense foliage. Decorative form.
Dahlias are native to Mexico and South America, and they hold their display in reserve for mid- to late summer and early fall. The genus offers incredible diversity of color and form, and we are pleased to offer dozens of varieties each year for spring planting. Dahlias are perennial but not cold hardy – tubers can overwinter in the ground in Zone 8 or warmer; in colder climates they can be dug up after frost and easily stored indoors for the winter. Please note – Dahlias should be planted outside once the danger of frost has passed and soil temperature has reached approximately 60° F. We ship tubers beginning in late March. You may keep your tubers in their bags in a cool, dark, dry spot until planting time (the bottom of a closet in a cool room or a box in the basement work nicely; do not refrigerate), or you may pre-pot the tubers indoors to get them started on growing before the warmer weather arrives.
